UP Smart Metering Businesses - Operational since: January, 2025 Business Type: DBFOOT – Design, Built, Finance, Own, Operate & Transfer Secured three sizable smart metering orders from UP DISCOMs (i.e. Two orders from PuVVNL DISCOM and one from DVVNL DISCOM) to replace ~76 lakh meters with Smart Meters in 27 months and to maintain it for 93 operational months. To execute these projects, three SPVs were formed - GMR Kashi, GMR Triveni & GMR Agra. The project area is spread across ~74,000 sq km in the eastern and southern regions of UP having a Rural:Urban mix of around 80:20.

The project is to create and Advanced Metering Infrastructure by replacing non-smart meters with the smart meters which has the functionality of bidirectional communication and remote connect / disconnect facility. Thirty minute interval data is being collected from every metering points which were fetched by fully integrated software solutions and the data is being stored in Cloud. Advanced data analytics, real-time dashboards, interactive customer app, error free – human intervention free billing, state-of-the-art validation-estimation-engines are some of the key functionalities of this AMI system.

• Till May 2025, >12% of the total meter installation scope has been achieved which is significantly higher than the competitors in the state
